In a way this is a tribute to New Plymouth and our famous Wind Wand sculpture by reknowned international kinetic artist Len Lye.
It's also a homage to blu-tack. I have recently been considering using blu-tack to "paint" with, however a cursory Google search reveals that like everything else I think of, it has already been done. This is one of the most thought provoking and stimulating sites on contemporary art I have viewed in recent years: Worsley Institute of Blu-Tack Art
