Pencil For M.R.

Pencil For M.R.
Oil on gessoed board
approx 100x100mm
NFS
This was a commision. I am now offering to paint anyone a pencil with their name or initials scratched into it in the way that we did when we were kids. Great for gifts. Price is $100. Please email me if you're interested. On this one I made it look like the initials were done with ballpoint ink. The colour of blue ballpoint ink I discovered is: ultramarine blue and alizarian crimson plus a small touch of ivory black.

Hi Paul, Ive just subscribed to Postcards and enjoy getting your blogs and a bit of art sent to my email address. I also like the stories that you weave into them. This one is neat. Its a nice reminder of how it was. It also reminds me of how me and my brother used to make rubbers out of flour and water when we had none at home. (Did anyone else do that?) Have a nice day, Lee :)

  2. Thanks Lee! Glad you're enjoying them. No, I've never heard that one - but I do remember later on in school when we had progressed from pencil to fountain pen, whereupon our English teacher insisted we all have a little bottle of bleach to correct mistakes. The class room stank of bleach! Yug!
