Two Dandelions in Small Bottle

I seem to have an umber and yellow theme going on lately! These are all placed on my studio floor with the natural dark patina of the old timber floorboards. I normaly position my stillife subjects closer to me to paint. As I always stand while painting this was quite a distance for a small subject like this and it's a bit like seeing with a zoom lense rather than a macro. I'm always fascinated by the complexity of how we see. Both the physical miracle that is our eyes and the way our brains interprete all that information. It's a fallacy that any artist paints literally what they see. It's never that simple.
