I sometimes feel a little Goofy myself. Kidding aside, I'm facinated by how the highlights on his gloves seem whiter & brighter then the background. Some magic at work here.
Thanks for all the positive comments! Chuck - Yes, highlights of white on white are always a problem! I tryed to get around it by using titanium white instead of the warmer flake white for the little highlights. Also, manipulating the directional brushstrokes to reflect the phisical light back in different ways is a technique I'm only just beginning to come to grips with.
This is really cute, what a fun idea for a painting. I like the fact that your backgrounds have so much texture but don't compete with your subjects.
