Miserable looking bugger isn't he? I don't know why my self portraits always look like this. I don't feel particularly miserable whilst painting them. I suspect that having the mirror tilted at an angle so I'm looking up my nose has something to do with it perhaps. This was just a little experiment trying out painting on unprimed linen. Well, it's primed with acrylic GAC medium which is transparent, this enables me to use the nice warm brown of the linen.
