Small Swordfish

I found this tiny fish washed up on the beach the other day. I've no idea what species it is but it appears to be some kind of swordfish? I've no idea how big it's supposed to grow but I painted it pretty much life size.

A piper I think. May be known as a garfish,too, from my recollection of many years ago.Nice painting.
ReplyDeleteThanks! Yes, I got quite a few responses and the general consensus seems to be that it's a Piper or Hyporhamphus ihi.
