I feel hopelessly ignorant when it comes to identifiying bugs and insects. I found this on the windowsill and just liked it's delicate emphemeral nature. They're really quite beautiful things when you study them closely.

    I think it's one of those big mosquitos that don't bite people....at least around this neck of the earth.

    My roots are from the South. We called these harmless insects 'fever carriers'. You sure push the paint around in a nice way. Great painting, Paul.

    Beautifully done.
    Biking home from the Dairy as a 10 year old with half a packet of 'hubber-bubber' in my mouth, (chewing and puffing)... i caught one of these in my mouth - whoosh - straight into the gum. Lesson learnt to say the least.
