Taranaki From Puniho - Evening

Taranaki From Puniho - Evening
Oil on gessoed board

This one was painted over several sessions over a few weeks. I love this time of the evening in winter when a cobalt shadow moves up over the ranges and the last of the sun turns the snow pink. It is a very fleeting moment lasting only a few minutes so it's a case of setting up and being prepared then going flat out to get as much done before the moment passes.
